Viking Museum

This is our third visit to the Viking Museum in Ladby, and every time we come here we have a new experience and there is always something different to see.   Today was no different.  Because this is our last visit here for a while, we spent a lot of time in the gift shop where everyone took their time to pick just the right defence armour and the right weapon.  It was also nice to see that the viking ship they are building here is almost done, it is looking quite magnificent.  Today for a change, the weather is perfect, it is sunny and beautiful and warm.  Great time, I think kids had a blast.

What an interesting looking museum, and a great day to visit it. I love the wood carvings and the long boat. How cool would the carved Viking look on my front lawn?

This boat has been built by hand according to ancient customs using ancient tools. From the way they split the original logs to the way they made the tar and even wool to seal the planks. It has taken about 4 years to built it and now it is almost done. Once finished they will take it to the fiord and anchor it there. It really is a beautiful ship.
