There are 47 restaurants in Levanto, we found this one – La Picea, on the outskirts of the old town – and it just happens to be THE number one rated restaurant in the city. This place is mostly for takeouts but there are some tables and chairs for people like us. It is all self service. You get the pizza fresh made – you bring it to the table, eat it and clean up after yourself. Simple. The pizza is on par with what we had in Arezzo but different because of thin crust. We liked it so much – we came here twice. What is the point of experimenting when we already know it is simply spectacular! There is not a lot of room to sit down and this place fills out fast. If you are not here at 7:30pm you are going to have to wait a while to get your pizza and simply watch other people eat theirs before yours is ready!

I think this will take spot number 1, Arezzo 2 and Quertze 3, L’Osteria in Nuremberg number 4. Everything else takes spot number 5 I think. Treviso was good too, darn it.
Ok, so we need to have a pizza and gelato party, I hope your are getting some recipes along the way, I am not craving pizza but nothing around here looks like that
I have a better idea, let’s meet up in Italy and do a gelato and pizza tour. You can’t duplicated this goodness because you need to have everything that is fresh. You can mimic it but not duplicate it, but we can try.
