Baby Elephant

This interaction literally lasted about 10 seconds, too fast for the camera to focus and for us to do anything other than be frozen in amazement.  The baby elephant, which is about the size of the Land Cruiser tire, got up, charged at the car, either wanting to play, or pretending to scare us.  The mother trumpeted loudly the baby  backed away a few feet, and was immediately surrounded by 5 or 6 adults that stared us down for a few seconds turned around and walked off.  It was both hilarious and frightening.

Those little guys are so protected by the adults it’s crazy, this one was quite rambunctious and clearly showing off knowing full well that mama will step in to protect him.
