Conegliano Castle

The remains of a 10th-century castle are situated on a hill that dominates the town and offers beautiful views of the countryside. Formerly belonging to the Bishop of Vittorio Veneto, what remains of the castle is a bell tower, which now houses a small museum, and outer walls.  There is a huge courtyard as well as a beautiful garden.  The gate that leads to the castle is build on a tight road bend which made squeezing through in our Alfa a bit of a challenge.  Both sides of the stone gate are decorated with every colour and shade of car pain you can imagine.
