Devil’s Cave – Pottenstein

After doing some summer sledding we headed over to the Devil’s Cave a short drive up the road.  The Devil’s Cave  is about 1.5km long which makes it the longest cave in Germany.  The only way to get in and see the cave is with a guided tour.  It is about a 45 min walk through the cave which we spent trying not to think about  The Descent when the lights went out for the in cave entertainment show. The exit from the cave comes out where the old water fall used to be.  The pictures are not the best because flash photography is not permitted, as it upsets the bats, so I had to hold still as the camera was trying to acquire a picture on a long exposure.

I hope so. We are collecting experiences we can share with all that come to visit. There seems to be a festival around here almost every other week. Pottenstein has a bonfire festival in January – that I would like to see.
