Truth be told we had three cable experts on Monday trying to ‘fix’ the cable. Collectively they decided it can’t be fixed. So we have ADSL instead. For €25/month for 50mbps of ADSL vs €20/m for 100mbps of the cable internet they could never get installed. Still we are happy and are consuming it in gigs.

I don’t get why they seem to shove adsl down everyone’s throats. It’s ALL they talk about here, but luckily we are one of the few homes left with cable. Only 40 Mbps which is happily plenty for us. 🙂

I think it’s more of a psychological approach. Everyone used to have a phone at home and DSL is a natural extension of it. Not everyone used to have cable TV so now to run internet and phone over it is witchcraft. We had cable in Canada because it was faster.
