Kellerfest

The english equivalent of a bush party. Actually what it really is – is a cellar party for local breweries that are organized on the outskirts of a village with lots of beer and good food. All food is made at home by families who run the show, the picnic is set up and if you are lucky enough to know about it and even luckier to find it you are in for a weekend of fun. These little parties take place on the weekend and each weekend a different cellar organizes it. Its the best kept locals secret.

This particular party ran out of food by 3:00 pm on Sunday. We still got served a great meal when we got there at noon, and still had a great choice of home made cakes which were priced between €1 to €1.2 each – so we had 3 pieces for the two of us. After that we stopped for an espresso at Volkers’ brother’s not so little house and spent an afternoon there sitting in the garden and relaxing. Fine day.
