We are in Metz

We have arrived – in fabulous Metz. Metz has a rich 3,000-year-history, having variously been a Celtic oppidum, an important Gallo-Roman city, the Merovingian capital of the Austrasia kingdom, the birthplace of the Carolingian dynasty, a cradle of the Gregorian chant, and one of the oldest republics of the common era in Europe.  The city has been steeped in Romance culture, but has been strongly influenced by Germanic culture due to its location and history.

We are out for a walk to stretch our legs and decompress after the drive.

Glad you made it to Metz. Auto troubles enroute are no fun.

Ture, we made it there just fine, at least it will be another story to remember and one day to retell. 🙂
